The Nacha membership recently approved a new rule about Micro-Entries that goes into effect in two phases in September 2022 and March 2023

The Nacha Operating Rules (ACH rules) define the term Micro-Entry to mean, A credit or debit Entry used by an Originator for the purpose of verifying a Receiver’s account or an individual’s access to an account

a Person that has authorized an ODFI (directly or through a Third-Party Sender) to Transmit, for the account of that Person, a credit Entry, debit Entry, or Non-Monetary Entry to the Receiver's account at the RDFI
Your audit reports for the last six years We will be verifying: • That your annual audits have been performed; • That you have been adhering to the 6-year record retention requirement for your audit reports; and • That you have remedied any findings from previous audits Samples of records of entries going back six years Maintaining records is a cornerstone of compliance. We will verify that records of entries, including returns and adjustments, are retained for six years from the date the entry was transmitted and that those records can be provided to the Receiver, ODFI, or Operator upon request
The discussion with question and answer period afterwards will go into Rules changes governing Reclamation Entries; exciting changes to Person-to-Person Entries via ACH; modifications to IAT Entries including identifying country codes as well as additional parties to the transaction; variations to the new Incomplete Transaction Rule; the decreased wait period following Prenotification Entries; and other Rules changes scheduled for implementation through 2015

Remember that R14—Representative Payee deceased or Unable to continue in that Capacity and R15—Beneficiary or Account Holder (Other Than a Representative Payee) Deceased return reason codes may be, under appropriate circumstances, used for any/all Entries regardless if that item is commercial or federal in origin. Again, these two return reason codes are not just use3d for the return of federal benefit payments. They may be used for commercial Entries as well.
